Tuna & White Bean Salad

Looking for a quick and easy meal that’s both delicious and healthy? Look no further than this delightful Tuna & White Bean Salad. Packed with protein and fiber, this salad is the perfect choice for a light lunch or dinner.

The star of the dish is the white beans, which provide a creamy and satisfying base. We recommend using Cannellini beans, which have a mild flavor and a soft, tender texture. The beans are a great source of plant-based protein and fiber, which will keep you feeling full and satisfied for hours.

Next up is the tuna. We suggest using albacore tuna in oil for the best flavor and texture. Tuna is a great source of lean protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for maintaining good health. It adds a savory and satisfying note to the salad that pairs perfectly with the creamy white beans.

For some crunch and freshness, we add chopped celery to the mix. Celery is low in calories and high in fiber, and its mild flavor and crisp texture make it a great addition to salads. Green onions and parsley add a burst of flavor and color, while the juice of one lemon and high-quality olive oil tie everything together.

For a bit of heat, we suggest adding a tablespoon of Calabrian chili. This spicy pepper from southern Italy is known for its fruity, slightly smoky flavor and its bright red color. It adds just the right amount of heat and complexity to the salad, without overpowering the other ingredients.

Finally, a bit of salt and pepper brings out the flavors of the ingredients and helps everything come together. Mix everything in a large bowl, allow it to rest in the refrigerator for at least two hours to let the flavors meld together, and serve cold or at room temperature. This salad can be stored in the fridge for up to five days, making it the perfect meal prep option for busy days.

So there you have it – a simple and delicious Tuna & White Bean Salad that’s sure to become a new favorite. Whether you’re looking for a light lunch or a satisfying dinner, this salad has got you covered!

The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and flexibility. We recommend making a double batch and keeping it in the fridge all week for an easy grab-and-go meal. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can easily customize it with whatever ingredients you have on hand.

While we love using Cannellini beans in this recipe, you can easily swap in garbanzo beans for a slightly different flavor and texture. And if you’re looking to “fancy it up,” try using dried beans instead of canned. Slow-cooking the beans gives the salad an even richer and more delicious flavor.

For a tangy and bright kick, we suggest using the juice of one lemon in the recipe. However, you can easily swap in lime juice or even use bottled lemon or lime juice if that’s what you have on hand. And for some fun and flavorful add-ins, try feta cheese, olives, tabasco sauce, sesame seeds, sweet onion, cucumbers, or anything else that strikes your fancy.

The possibilities are truly endless with this easy and delicious Tuna & White Bean Salad. So why not give it a try and see what delicious creations you can come up with? Whether you’re looking for a light lunch or a tasty snack, this salad is sure to satisfy your cravings and keep you feeling energized all day long!

    5 stars
I add crumbled Feta, chopped Roma tomato, some sliced green and black kalmata olives in addition to your ingredients, and chopped Calabrian chilies instead of the ground, because I have a VAT of them thanks to my Calabrian mother in law 🙄 Also a little fresh oregano and cracked black pepper… Summertime in a bowl, not to mention a full meal lol.
